*For sessions scheduled on Mondays, cancellations or reschedule requests need to be communicated by end of day (6pm MST) on the Thursday prior.

Virtual sessions contain the same approach, information and structure as in-person appointments. Scheduling phone or video sessions is an option allowing for increased support and flexibility.

What is the difference between virtual sessions from in-person appointments?

Number of sessions are determined based on clients needs, goals and progres. Once a strong foundation has been established, decisions regarding frequency are collaboratively determined. Clients may continue with periodic tune-ups, seek support in preparation for specific events or in navigating a specific situation.

How many sessions do I need?

We’ve all heard it before- “it takes a village”, right? At BE HERD we are passionate about being a collaborative member of your support system. We are more than happy to collaborate with other members of the team (parents, partners, trainers, teammates, co-worker, etc.) In order to maintain confidentiality of the client- what is said cannot and will not be disclosed without permission from the client. When appropriate and in the client’s best interest, members of the team may be invited to participate in session(s). Participants are always encouraged to share as much as with their parents and trainer(s) as they feel comfortable.General feedback regarding themes of sessions may be provided when requested.

How can i involve the other members of my team?

The goal is to make sure there is a good fit- please ask if you would like a complimentary 15 minute video or phone consultation.
In this first session we will get to know each other, get a sense of how we will work together, begin to set goals and formulate treatment approaches.
If I am not the right counselor for you I will provide you with referrals for alternative services to best meet your needs.

Do you have an introductory program?

Payment is required at time of session
All major Credit Cards accepted using IVY PAY - a HIPPA compliant processing services for therapists
Itemized invoices (superbills) provided on request for you to submit to your insurance company for out of network benefit reimbursement.

What types of payment are accepted?

What is the cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your appointment, we ask that you do so 24 hours in advance of the scheduled time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged for that time, as is outlined in our Disclosures.

How can I prepare for therapy?

Consider what is not working for you right now and what your ultimate goals are. Whether your appointment is online or in person, give yourself plenty of time to get situated. If your appointment is online, sign on 5-10 minutes early and wait for your therapist to join you. Please make sure you are somewhere quiet with few distractions. Prep your space for a great online therapy experience.
Get as cozy as if you were in my office - make sure you are in a comfortable seat, silence notifications, tissues nearby if needed, water, etc.
Have chargers handy
Use earbuds to avoid feedback sound/ensure more privacy that no one in the home can overhear
Test internet connection, speakers and camera prior to the session start time
Have notebook (recommend dedicating a specific space for therapy notes) an pen nearby

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

*A GFE is available upon scheduling or upon request.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or
